Automatic double-fold bender for thin sheets
The AFF-D 135-i is an automatic thermoplastic bending machine by Shannon Machines, designed for thin sheets from 0.2 to 1.5 mm. Its two lower heating lines make it possible to form two folds in a single cycle, with a distance between folds of 50 to 460 mm and a working length of 1,350 mm.
The i series adds a digital display and a memory function to store settings and parameters, so every repeat job is recalled without setting up the machine again. It is built for POP, signage and interior design workshops producing runs of acrylic displays, leaflet holders and poster holders with identical folds, piece after piece.

By forming two folds at once on thin sheet, the AFF-D 135-i completes in a single operation parts that would otherwise need two passes. It is particularly cost-effective in these fields:
Displays and POP: catalogue displays, leaflet holders, card holders and countertop stands with two parallel folds.
Signage and sign making: poster holders and advertising stands in thin acrylic with exact, repeatable angles.
Interior design and furniture: showcases and small decorative acrylic elements that call for clean finishes.
Series production: simultaneous bending of several sheets, or of a single part up to 1,350 mm long.
The machine features two adjustable electronic heating elements with 3 mm Teflon-coated profiles. When a part needs only one fold, one of the hot wires and one of the vacuum pumps can be switched off, so the same machine handles one or two folds depending on the order.
The front hot wire and the vacuum system move to an exact millimetric position to increase or reduce the spacing between folds, from 50 to 460 mm. Two angle-control protractors, one per fold, set bending angles from 0 to 180°.
An electronic timer and a foot pedal control the entire bending cycle. The operator adjusts the hot wires, the folds and the cooling time, and the digital display with memory stores these parameters for the next orders. Digital temperature control works in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit.
Two vacuum pumps and pressure bars keep the sheet still during heating, preventing shifting and distortion. The result is a straight, uniform fold, even on long parts.
The AFF-D 135-i is a floor-standing machine on a mobile stand that places the table at the ideal working height for the operator. Measuring 1,560 x 880 x 740 mm and weighing 175 kg, it takes up a compact footprint in the workshop.
The table surface is designed for continuous use and includes an adjustable parallel stop. Positioning every sheet at exactly the same point is the key to repeating precise dimensions in long runs.
AFF bending machines are built on a modular basis and prepared internally so that users can replace the temperature control unit themselves with ease. The machine runs on 230 V with a maximum consumption of 1,200 W.
Direct heating blades: brass profiles with a Teflon coating and 2 to 10 mm contact strips, ideal for thin sheets or foamed PVC.
Blade lengths: available in working lengths of 500, 650 and 1,350 mm to suit the size of your parts.
Replacement heating profiles: the standard 3 mm profiles are easily swapped for others of a different size.
Control unit: dedicated temperature controllers for the AFF and AFF-D models, with a digital display in °C or °F.

Ask for budget
The AFF-D 135-i bends several types of thermoplastics, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and commercial applications:
Acrylic (PMMA): clean folds for displays, poster holders, showcases and catalogue stands.
Polycarbonate (PC): thin sheets bent to precise angles for stands and technical parts.
Polystyrene (PS): POP elements and advertising stands for long runs.
PVC: rigid sheet stands and displays and, with a direct heating blade, foamed PVC as well.
Both models share a working length of 1,350 mm, thicknesses from 0.2 to 1.5 mm and angles from 0 to 180°. The AFF 135-i works with a single profile and 600 W, while the AFF-D 135-i doubles the profiles and reaches 1,200 W to form two folds at once with a spacing of 50 to 460 mm. If your parts have two parallel folds, the AFF-D eliminates the second pass and reduces the handling of each sheet.
The timer and pedal govern the full cycle, so the operator can focus on loading and unloading parts while the machine repeats the same heating and cooling times. The i series memory avoids reconfiguring the machine for every order, and vacuum clamping ensures uniform folds even over long lengths. It is the right bending machine for companies producing large runs of thin acrylic stands.
