Description

Double-table manual hot-wire foam cutter

The TM Line is the top-of-the-range manual hot-wire cutter in the TM series, designed to cut EPS and XPS insulation boards to size for external insulation finishing systems (EIFS). Its double tabletop and double panel holders hold the board firmly while the 0.40 mm nichrome wire makes straight, step and angled cuts.

Thanks to its telescopic steel and aluminium frame, it cuts panels up to 1,250 mm long and 280 mm thick, yet weighs just 18 kg. A professional tool for installers and contractors who want clean cuts with no crumbling right on the job site.

Applications of the TM Line cutter

Clean EPS and XPS cuts right on site

Hot-wire cutting avoids the crumbling caused by traditional saws or blades, and the precise fit of the boards helps prevent thermal bridges, as required by energy-saving regulations. The TM Line is used in:

  • Construction and architecture: cutting insulation boards to size during EIFS installation, with straight, step and angled cuts.

  • Set design: polystyrene pieces for stage sets and installations that need clean edges and exact dimensions.

  • Displays and POP: rigid foam bases and volumes for displays and point-of-sale elements.

  • Signage, sign making and interior design: EPS or XPS panels and decorative elements cut precisely and without waste.

How the TM Line cutter works

Double tabletop and panel holders for large-format boards

The TM Line features a double tabletop and double panel holders that keep the board firmly in place throughout the cut. This stable clamping is the basis for results comparable to those of a CNC hot-wire cutter, with the versatility of a manual tool.

Millimetre and angle scales always at hand

Cutting height is easy to adjust, and the whole frame carries several quick-access metric and angle scales to measure each cut. Switching from a straight cut to a step or angled cut takes just a few movements.

Ball slide guides that prevent the bow from jamming

Ball slide guides ensure smooth travel of the cutting bow, with no jamming, for clean and precise cuts from start to finish on every board.

1,250 mm nichrome wire with quick replacement

The 0.40 mm, 1,250 mm long nichrome cutting wire is replaced quickly thanks to the handy spring-loading system. The on/off switch stops heating when the cutter is not in use and extends wire life, with a consumption of just 120 W at low voltage.

Construction and portability of the TM Line cutter

18 kg telescopic steel and aluminium frame

The steel and aluminium frame combines sturdiness with low weight. Its telescopic design extends to cut panels up to 1,250 mm long and 280 mm thick, and the machine requires no maintenance to operate.

Folding tripod and built-in handle to fit in a car boot

The metal stand sits upright on the floor and folds quickly against the back of the tabletop when the cutter is not in use. With a fixed handle on the upper table and overall dimensions of 1,000 x 1,200 x 1,900 mm, once folded it fits in the boot of a small car.

Electronics protected in a steel box

The power transformer and fuses are housed in a sturdy steel box fixed to the back of the tabletop, protecting the electrical components in the demanding conditions of a job site.

Optional side bow with a second hot wire

  • Second hot wire: the optional side bow adds an extra wire for easy, precise angled cuts.

  • 550 mm cutting depth: lets you work polystyrene panels of different thicknesses with the side bow.

  • 320 mm wire length: sized for vertical angled cuts with precise, high-quality results.

  • 1,250 mm main bow: the side bow complements the main cutting bow, which remains available for straight and step cuts.

Materials compatible with the TM Line cutter

Polystyrene and rigid foams in boards up to 280 mm

The nichrome hot wire cuts these materials without crumbling and leaves smooth edges, ready for installation:

  • EPS (expanded polystyrene): facade insulation boards cut to size with clean edges.

  • XPS (extruded polystyrene): straight, step and angled cuts for a precise fit between panels.

  • Rigid foams: blocks and panels for set design, POP and interior design, cut to exact dimensions.

TM Line or TM Slim: which manual cutter to choose

Both share the telescopic frame, the 0.40 mm, 1,250 mm nichrome wire and a cutting capacity of up to 280 mm in thickness. The TM Line is the top of the TM series: it adds a double tabletop and double panel holders, accepts the optional side bow and measures 1,000 x 1,200 x 1,900 mm at 18 kg. The TM Slim, with a smaller support surface, 1,000 x 800 x 1,900 mm and 17 kg, puts lightness first. For those cutting large volumes of boards on site, the TM Line provides greater stability with every cut.

A professional tool for insulation installers

In an EIFS system, every badly cut board is a potential thermal bridge. The TM Line solves this critical point with clean, precise cuts that make it easier to fit panels perfectly and comply with energy-saving regulations. Maintenance-free, easy to carry and quick to fold, it is a tool designed for any construction or renovation project.
