Description

Compact, lightweight manual hot-wire cutter

The TM Slim is the entry model of the TM series for cutting expanded and extruded polystyrene and polyurethane foams. With a smaller support surface than the TM Line, it retains several metric and angle adjustments that allow a wide variety of cuts on polystyrene and foam panels.

It keeps the same sturdy telescopic frame as the rest of the series, cutting panels up to 1,250 mm high and 280 mm thick while weighing just 17 kg. A practical tool for construction professionals and DIY enthusiasts alike who want professional results.

Applications of the TM Slim cutter

Insulation cut to size with light, compact equipment

Designed to cut EPS and XPS panels to size during the installation of thermal insulation systems, the TM Slim makes straight and angled cuts with the flexibility needed to work comfortably:

  • Thermal insulation: on-site trimming of EPS and XPS boards for precise joints between panels.

  • Construction and architecture: straight and angled cuts of insulation panels in new builds and refurbishments.

  • Set design and POP: polystyrene and foam pieces for stage sets, displays and point-of-sale elements.

  • Interior design and signage: decorative elements and rigid foam panels with clean, undistorted edges.

Cutting performance of the TM Slim cutter

Metric and angle adjustments inherited from the TM series

The TM Slim features scales with millimetre and angle graduations and easy cutting height adjustment. Every measurement is controlled directly on the machine, so repeated cuts always come out the same.

0.40 mm nichrome wire for clean edges

The 1,250 mm long nichrome hot wire cuts the material without crumbling it. The on/off switch stops heating when the cutter is not in use and extends wire life, with a consumption of 120 W at low voltage.

Full TM series capacity in a smaller format

Despite its smaller support surface, the TM Slim cuts panels up to 1,250 mm high and 280 mm thick, the same capacity as the top model in the series.

Easy maintenance and direct access to the wire

The design makes maintenance easy, with simple access for replacing the wire and for cleaning. The transformer and fuses are protected by a sturdy sheet-metal box located behind the work surface.

Compact design of the TM Slim cutter

Steel and aluminium frame weighing only 17 kg

The steel and aluminium frame provides the sturdiness needed for stable cuts at just 17 kg, one kilo lighter than the TM Line. Overall dimensions of 1,000 x 800 x 1,900 mm make it easy to fit into tight spaces.

Metal pedestal for working upright

The metal pedestal holds the cutter in an upright position so you can work comfortably without bending down. Its ergonomic design offers a comfortable, stable grip for precise control while cutting.

Built-in carrying handle

Once folded, the handy carrying handle is integrated into the aluminium surface. The TM Slim moves from one job site to the next as easily as it is stored in the workshop.

Adapt the TM Slim to the way you work

Choose the TM series configuration you need

  • TM Slim: smaller support surface and 17 kg for frequent moves and small work areas.

  • TM Line: double tabletop and double panel holders for large-format boards, weighing 18 kg.

  • TM Line side bow: second 320 mm hot wire with 550 mm depth for angled cuts.

  • Wire replacement: the 0.40 mm nichrome wire is easy to change to maintain cutting quality at all times.

Materials compatible with the TM Slim cutter

EPS, XPS and polyurethane foams up to 280 mm

The TM Slim is designed for foamed materials that are cut cleanly and precisely with a hot wire:

  • EPS (expanded polystyrene): insulation boards cut to size without crumbling or debris.

  • XPS (extruded polystyrene): rigid panels cut with straight edges and precise angles.

  • Polyurethane and rigid foams: pieces for decoration, set design and point-of-sale elements.

Why choose the TM Slim within the TM series

The TM Slim offers the same cutting capacity as the TM Line, up to 1,250 mm high and 280 mm thick, in a more compact format: 1,000 x 800 x 1,900 mm compared with 1,000 x 1,200 x 1,900 mm for the top model. It is the right choice when mobility and space matter more than a double tabletop, for example in refurbishments, small jobs or workshops with little room.

Professional results with a simple manual tool

Hot-wire cutting avoids the crumbling typical of saws and blades and leaves clean edges that make panels easier to fit. With intuitive handling and easy maintenance, the TM Slim delivers professional results efficiently, both on site and in the workshop.
